A bright apartment next to El Retiro, renovated in Nordic and New York style mix
The remodeling of this home on Alcalá Street has created spaces full of light, open and decorated in white and wood.
A mix of New York and Scandinavian inspiration. This is how Nordic Standard defines the style of this home, the architects of the renovation project for an apartment next to Madrid's Parque del Retiro. Located on the emblematic Calle Alcalá, the spaces were transformed, leaving them more open and fluid. The distribution was optimized to, in its 90 square meters, create spacious and modern environments, with a kitchen open to the living room: a main entrance with mirrored cabinets and a hallway that leads to the bedroom and bathroom on the left, to the right the dining room and kitchen space. Followed by the dining room, the bright living room opens and, from there, a door leads to the suite-type master bedroom space, with a dressing room and bathroom.
The key was to look for the light and let it flow as much as possible. A floor-to-ceiling window lets light flood the house and also marks the aesthetics of the home with its industrial-inspired enclosure look. Thus, a palette of nude colors and materials, with the combination of white and wood as a base for that sought-after Nordic style. In the living room, for example, pieces of furniture with organic and friendly shapes have been incorporated, such as the two columns in the living room that serve as support for a marble bar and that acts as a separating/connecting axis with the dining and kitchen area. Every detail has been taken care of to the maximum, creating most of the pieces expressly for this project and that make up delicate, simple, warm and bright spaces where comfort is the protagonist.
